CheckMates In Your School

There are two ways to bring high-quality after-school chess to your primary school: we can send one of our vetted instructors to run the club for you, or you can run your own club internally with our all-in-one platform licence.

CheckMates Instructor at your school

We send knowledgeable instructors to your school to teach children how to play chess after school is finished. Bookings, communications with parents, etc. are all handled by us through the CheckMates platform. Community members also get access to free at-home educational content, invitations to exclusive inter-school tournaments and more.

CheckMates partners with local primary schools to deliver high quality after-school chess lessons to students after hours.

  • All of our instructors have had enhanced DBS checks completed and they are also on the DBS Update Service. They also complete a first aid information training course and child safeguarding certificate during our onboarding process.
  • We have our own public liability insurance, and various health and safety policies which can be provided to schools upon request.
  • The school must only provide an empty classroom for us to use after school. We provide the materials.

For schools who wish to run their own club internally, we also give access to the platform as a monthly subscription or annual licence. You get access to our library of 200+ interactive annotated lessons, learning management software, parent communications, and your students also get unlimited access to our library of at-home learning material.

CheckMates offers its lesson resources and learning management system as an all-in-one tool for schools who want to run their own high quality club internally. Schools who purchase our licence get access to the following features:

  • Our lesson resources, which cover everything from total beginner level chess to more advanced skills.
  • On-platform booking, so that you can easily charge parents for lessons and gather relevant data on children such as medical information, collections etc.
  • Parents get access to our platform which allows them to review lesson material with their children at home and they can also view at-home learning material such as tutorials we've made just for members of our community.
  • Teachers can grade students and give feedback to parents through the platform.
